Space Photometry with Brite-Constellation
نویسندگان
چکیده
BRITE-Constellation is devoted to high-precision optical photometric monitoring of bright stars, distributed all over the Milky Way, in red and/or blue passbands. Photometry from space avoids turbulent and absorbing terrestrial atmosphere allows for very long continuous observing runs with high time resolution thus provides data necessary understanding various processes inside stars (e.g., asteroseismology) their immediate environment. While first astronomical observations focused on spectral regions not accessible ground it soon became obvious around 1970 that avoiding significantly improved accuracy photometry satellites explicitly dedicated high-quality were launched. A perfect example BRITE-Constellation, which result a successful cooperation between Austria, Canada Poland. Research highlights targets nearly entire HRD are presented, but focus primarily massive hot stars.

Recent MOST space photometry
The Microvariability and Oscillations of STars (MOST) photometric satellite has already undertaken more than 64 primary campaigns which include some clusters and has obtained observations of >850 secondary stars of which ∼180 are variable. More than half of the variables pulsate, with the majority being of B-type. Since 2006 January, MOST has operated with only a single CCD for both guiding and...
متن کاملUnitary Constellation Design with Application to Space-Time Coding
Recently unitary space-time modulation has been presented to give a solution to more reliable multiple antennas communications. Good-performing unitary constellations are required to be designed to fit into this system. Although the basic principle is well understood and certain criteria and their transformations for designing such constellations have been presented, we don’t have a general met...
متن کاملUnitary Space-Time Constellation Designs From Group Codes
We propose new unitary space-time constellation designs with high diversity products. Our Hamiltonian and product constellations are based on Slepian’s group codes, and can be used for any number of transmitter antennas M and any data rate R. Our Hamiltonian constellations achieve the theoretical upper bound of diversity product in the case where M is even and the cardinality of the signal cons...
متن کاملSpace-time constellation-rotating codes maximizing diversity and coding gains
We apply algebraic number theoretic tools to design linear space-time constellation-rotating (ST-CR) block codes. With an arbitrary number of transmitand receive-antennas, our ST-CR designs achieve symbol/second rate and enjoy maximum diversity gains over quasi-static fading channels. When is an Euler number for mod , or, when for some positive integer , the designed ST-CR precoders also maximi...
متن کاملSpace-time diversity systems based on linear constellation precoding
We present a unified approach to designing space–time (ST) block codes using linear constellation precoding (LCP). Our designs are based either on parameterizations of unitary matrices, or on algebraic number-theoretic constructions. With an arbitrary number of transmitand receive-antennas, ST-LCP achieves rate 1 symbol/s/Hz and enjoys diversity gain as high as over (possibly correlated) quasi-...
